CEP 810: Teaching for Understanding with Technology
Nancy Ayers
In this course, I learned how to use a variety of technology tools that can be used to support student learning. The skills I learned in CEP 810 were essential for the courses to follow. We studied the TPACK (Technology, Pedagogy, and Content Knowledge) framework and the importance of having a professional learning network. I created my first blog page and learned about the Creative Commons copyright laws.

CEP 811: Adapting Innovative Technologies in Education
Susan Wright, Ben Rimes, and Jodi Spicer
In this course, I gained a better understanding of how to address the needs of all learners by using UDL (Universal Design for Learning) to create a Stand Alone Instructional Resource (StAIR) using Microsoft Powerpoint. I did a TPACK Webquest which taught me that it takes a balance between technology, pedagogy, and content to make an effective lesson that hits the "sweet spot". In order to expand my professional networks and presence, I created my own Wiki page.

CEP 812: Applying Educational Technology to Issues of Practice
Nancy Ayers
In this course, I continued to develop my understanding of TPACK by exploring ways in which different types of technology can be used to address a wide range of problems in education. I created Screencasts using Jing, a Survey using Survey Monkey, a Voicethread using Audioboo, and a Glog using Glogster. In addition, I collaborated with classmates using Vyew for a Group Leadership Project about how to use Blogger. We made a Screencast of the Microsoft Powerpoint we created to present our information. I also came up with a "Wicked Problem" and chose to use Weebly to effectively to solve the problem.

CEP 800: Learning in School and Other Settings
Danah Henriksen
In this course, I studied several learning theories and ways in which they relate to student learning. In order to "Understand Student Understanding," I interviewed students about a topic and analyzed their thinking about the topic. I recorded the interview and created Audio Interview Podcast using Camtasia. I also observed and created individualized lesson plans for a student in my class as he developed his understanding of number sense. In order to present my observations, I created a Digital Storytelling video using Windows Moviemaker.

CEP 815: Technology and Leadership
William Cain, Joshua Rosenberg, Nick Sheltrown
In this course, I learned many different perspectives and issues common to learning, technology, and leadership. CEP 815 covered professional development strategies, planning, and evaluation, along with the ethical and social implications of technology integration. I now know that emerging technologies not only have the potential of changing what and how students learn, but they can also alter the task of teaching in significant ways.

CEP 805: Learning Mathematics with Technology
Ralph Putnam
This is a course that I chose to take as an elective because math is something I enjoy learning and teaching. From it, I developed my understanding of Instrumental vs. Relational understanding and the importance of knowing the benefits and drawbacks of each, in order to be an effective math instructor. I was introduced to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and their Illuminations website. I worked in a team of classmates to collaborate our ideas and opinions about our readings and assignments. The last part of the course was spent constructing my own online math resource library.

CEP 820: Teaching Students Online
Leigh Wolf & Andrea Zellner
In this course, I examined ways in which I can effectively bring technology into my classroom to better meet the educational needs of my students. I assessed different approaches on how to broadcast ideas and information to the outside world for purposes of collaboration and communication. I also participated in discussions and evaluations of various online learning management systems including their functions, strengths, and weaknesses and explored various teaching methodologies and how they should be used in the online environment to ensure teaching and learning success. Best of all, I designed and created my own online course!

CEP 807: Proseminar in Educational Technology
Matt Koehler, Andrea Zellner, Joshua Rosenberg, & William Cain
This course focuses on designing an online portfolio that summarizes and showcases my acquired skills and completed projects in the MAET program. The online portfolio will serve as a reflection of my competence in integrating technology to support teaching and learning success.
